A sense of gratification
October 30, 2008
Yes that’s right. Happy i am! (I tend to use “i am”’s for many of my sentences these days… hmm) Because, got back my hard disk i did! Apparently, Jun Hao (from the next class and China buddy) a red gleaming sexy hard disk and he knew that it can only be the hard disk of 6 people in SP (because it’s a limited edition only available in China and only 6 of us bought it) so he thought and thought and voila! He knew it was mine, because your’s truly can be so marvelous at losing things – big small, cheap expensive, dull colourful.
Some of you may have already know but IF you haven’t already found out – I’ll be taking part in this year’s National Novel Writing Month at http://nanowrimo.org. It’ll be a month long in November, which is like really really soon, and we’ve to complete writing 50,000 words within that period of time. So my wish is basically just this – to actually hit a target of 50,000 words though it may seem somewhat as a insurmountable task.
And i’ve been blogging almost daily these days. I should stop here now.
See you, world.
The value of pi

That’s a value of Pi for you. It’s a small number, with infinite possibilities. As a constant it’s basically the basis of every single thing you see around you. Buildings, cars, airplanes, plates, fork, spoons, bottles all revolve around this little greek alphabet, π.
Anyways, i paid up my 7-year old fine to the good ol’ National Library Board for $40.80. It’s not like i want to borrow a book or something, but just, i hate owing them money seeing them being so kind to little kids (which i used to be) lending them books only to know later on that they’ll return it overdued and for some exceptional cases (like me!) losing them. Nevertheless i was really happy that i cleared that long overdued fine.
Then there are really nice people around today… I lost my portable HDD yesterday right? So headed to the lost and found department i did! Although they didn’t have it (that can only mean some dishonest dude took my HDD) that guy that told me so did it in a very polite way… which, sometimes can be very unlike how a school staff will react to a student. Then there was the counter librarian that was really nice to me even though i haven’t stepped in a library for like donkey years to pay my fine.
Neutrality 1.0

As one would describe today it would be lack of nothing but a series of events that might most probably show you the irony of life and the shit that happens day to day. There are just a few incredibly stupid things that happened today and a few retardedly things that shouldn’t have happened, but happened anyway.
If you knew me well enough, you’d know that i seldom take breakfast. But today was an unusual day and i went to school early for breakfast. Here’s the thing, it was 7:30AM and my class starts at 8. So, i headed to class, happy, because i had a full breakfast only to know that my lecturer didn’t turn up until one hour later. Surprise! I could have slept for an extra hour and skipped my breakfast until it’s time for lunch.
Then it’s no over. Did i mention i was having a sore throat? Which made the day really tiring and sneezy and dry and whatever.
I thought Report Writing lesson was pretty much fulfilling until i realised i lost my recently-bought 160GB sleekass hard disk when i was on my way to the driving school.
Oh i signed up for Basic Theory Test! Which was what really got me pretty much excited and stuff.
Bongs suck
October 27, 2008
So sometimes your mum really do care about you and wants you to do good. It’s just sometimes the rants and loud voices are just too much to take and you just succumb to your emotions – then you shout back. It’s not like i want to have a verbal-retaliation but seriously… It’s only a freaking door man.
Thing is, my room door always produces that *bong* sound when you close it because of imperfect engineering by the contractor which makes my door egde uneven. So here’s the story, my mum ain’t happy with me so i closed my door (i really closed it, didn’t slam. I’m a good boy) but it produced that *bong* sound and she thought that i slammed the door on her.
REALLY MUM, even though you are never gonna read this – i NEVER slammed the door on you. But you still don’t get it!!!
Piece of wooden crap door.
On the lighter side of things…This week has been rather eventful really, learnt quite a bit of new stuffs which really mean completing some stuff on me 101 list! So i actually completed:
- Learning how to fold a shirt in 10 secs!
- Donated 3200 grains of rice
- Bought a portable vacuum cleaner for me room!
- (Not actually completed, but…) I bought Conan Doyle’s: Hound of Baskerville and Daniel’ Keyes: Flowers for Algernon!
Well, that’s pretty much it for last week. But i’m sure this week will be better than the last. So, until the next 101 post… See you.
Exponents

The faintest existence of definitions sometimes surround questions and what is a function of why, and why is a form of a question… And why is life so hard to bear sometimes? Up’s and down’s are part of a graph and they’re nonetheless the same in life.
Gradients depict on where we stand and who we stand against.
And just like how algebra defines the equation and it’s function, literature in itself, defines feelings. And this piece of literature defines… sadness.
September showers
October 23, 2008
Just like any other slow moving day (except today’s a wet wet day! rain!) today’s not an exception. For the consoling fact that hey, our lessons in the morning ended early and we had spare time all the way till 1pm to do whatever we want. And visited the library we did!
So apart from borrowing some random books on flight (just for random info!) we checked out the CD sections as well. And i borrowed…
- Modest Mouse – Building Something Out of Nothing
- math and physics club
For the typical stereotype who wants to know a day in a life of an SP student, look below. Sleeping in class/lectures/on a table/while eating/while standing is common, but this is something new for a start. And it’s kind of amusing in a way because it makes you wonder if they’re actually studying/researching (hence the books lying around… and on a face?) or sleeping.
And on a harder side of things. Assignments and projects… Sigh. Need i say more?
Not today please.

Today, i just encounted one of the most (if not the most) absurd thing that can ever ever really happen to you.
*Walks into the Comfort Delgro office and gets really amazed by a super big fish tank*
Me: Hi, I’d to like ask… (Regarding my really nice hoodie which i lost on the cab on the way home from the airport when i returned from China).
Receptionist lady: Okay, hold on. Let me check with the Lost & Found
Meanwhile, while Luke was waiting for the lady to get back to him, he was looking at fishies swimming in the huge ass fish tank that was there. He counted, and there were like a million fishies there – yellow, blue, traffic light colours, whatever.
Receptionist lady: Okay, i think you have to come back another day (At this point i was like WTF in my head) because… the Lost & Found staff are currently not in the office.
Me: *uber stunned*
That’s sweet yo. Thanks ah? I COULDA WENT HOME AND SLEEP!
